It was a very exciting day today for many reasons. It felt good to donate my time to Saddlewood Elementary School to help raise money for the school and it was nice testing out a new service Picture this 4 Life Photography will be offering this year, a Photo Booth! Everything went great and it appeared that everyone was very happy with the 4x6 images that were printed up for them. I got to work with plenty of beautiful smiling children and loving families. I have noticed that photo booths have become very popular at wedding receptions, but I do not see why it has to stop there. The photo booth would also be great for birthday parties, school functions, really just about any gathering. Below are some examples of the shots taken today.
FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS: I have read many different articles on how to set up a photo booth. I thought this setup worked perfectly. I used a black backdrop (For weddings and future events, I look to get a backdrop that has more of a contrast in the design to really help the subjects pop more. Black worked just fine, but there were times where the subjects hair or clothes blended in a little bit), my Nikon D800, and two soft boxes (one with a sb600 speedlight and other with a sb910 speed light). For this event, I did not use a tripod, I wanted to be more of a part of the shot, so I shot each image handheld. Flashes were set to TTL, lens used was my trusty nikon 24-70mm f2.8. Aperture varied between f3.5 & f4.5, shutter speed between 1/80 to 1/100, iso 200. If you have any other questions, feel free to contact me.
